Everyday transactions support healthcare

By linking everyday transactions and donations within payment services, affected individuals are able to receive the financial resources they need directly from donors via their smartphones without delay. The approach opens up the possibility of making aid more efficient and less bureaucratic, by passing additional organisations. Our main goal is to raise awareness of the problem of inadequate health care and to promote exchange about possible solutions.

Consumption & lack of healthcare

Limited access to necessary healthcare create obstacles for people in need of medical treatment, with serious consequences for individuals and society. During this invention design project, we create a proposal on how donations can be implemented in a payment service to support access to the necessary medical treatment and can be independently provided to a user in need. In 2020, people made roughly 42.1 million PayPal transactions per day. We conducted extensive research on passive and active donations, extrinsic motivation, market research, and money flow. Initially, we established through brainstorming the point at which we would collect the funds. A levy resembling a transaction tax seemed sensible to us. We iterated through multiple variations of a donation process using flowcharts. It was crucial to us that the donation act took place directly, bypassing intermediary donation organisations, thereby rendering donations immediate and transparent. We formulated "How Might We" questions to define the key constraints of the concept such as:

How can we seamlessly integrate the system into everyday life? How can we design the donation process to be transparent? With an design sprint we created an MVP.

Empowering donors with flexible giving preferences

they can choose whether to donate with each payment, set up percentage-based contributions, or opt for rounding up the payment amounts. The overarching design integrates a direct connection between donors and those in need.

Those seeking assistance can access financial support on-site via simple internet access, receiving the aid they need instantly. This streamlined process fosters an environment of direct impact and conscious consumption, where everyone can play a part in making a positive change.

Communicate a disruptive invention.

To communicate the concept, we designed an intense feeling advertisement of the concept. I animated the video in After Effects and designed the soundscape in Adobe Audition.

We started to research disruptive inventions. Established boundaries and restrictions to be critical with missuse.

Contributions

We collaborated closely. Everyone in the team was involded in research and the design system and storytelling. During the production I focused on creating a the sound design, and animated the video.
